Mr. Fazal M. K. Ali MANEKIA founded the Merint Group. The Manekia family started their business in India in 1912 and today employ over 400 people with an annual turnover in excess of US$ One Hundred Million.

In the year 1977 Saint Gobain chose Mr. Manekia as an obvious partner to cater to the demands of the Middle East and African markets, the association is still going strong in more than 23 countries for more than 25 years now. The Company, New Merchants’ International LLC (Merint - Dubai) was also established in Dubai, UAE during this year.

The Company owns Ware-Houses in Dubai, Qatar, Sharjah and India (Mumbai, Delhi), with areas measuring 20,000 Sq.ft.

In the year 2001 MERINT joined hands with METAL DESIGN ENGINEERING (MDE) -  Austria a company specializing in skylights and sun shading structures, manufacturing space frames, point fixed glazing, tension cable structures, entrance canopies, illuminated flooring, etc. - to provide design and engineering solutions and since executed several projects in India and Abroad.
