In 1987 a franchise was secured from Numero Uno in California to establish a chain of restaurants. A first restaurant was purchased and then two more were established.

This corporation had three shareholders. Around 1998, the three shareholders separated and each kept one restaurant each. Merint – USA now owns the Main Restaurant near the USC Campus in Los Angeles.
